Do I need a driver? No. Plug-and-play. The lighting is not user-adjustable — color and effect are fixed at the factory. Is the light always on? Yes — whenever the cable is connected to a powered PC, the LEDs stay lit. When the PC is off or USB power is cut, the lights turn off with it. Will this enable 8000 Hz polling on my keyboard? Only if your keyboard's firmware supports 8000 Hz polling. The cable is designed to carry an 8K signal cleanly, but your polling rate is set by the keyboard itself.
