A sun-warm Banarasi cotton saree in vivid marigold yellow, woven with a light, breathable hand. Tiny floral buti motifs in resham and zari — touched with orange and red — sit gently across the body. The motifs, anchal and border are all woven in zari, with a slender gold band striped in red and silver and finished at the edge with a fresh lime-green selvedge. Handwoven in Varanasi on a traditional pit loom. Cotton Banarasi is the quieter cousin of the silk line — same loom, same patient hand, different yarn. Each buti here is built into the fabric thread by thread in the Kadhua tradition, never appliqued on after. The luxury of the weave lies in the placement and the loom hours behind it. After wearing, allow the saree to settle gently. Dry clean only, so the weave, colour, and zari remain protected. When storing, wrap it in a soft muslin cloth and keep it in a dry place. Zari is delicate and responds to changes in weather; the muslin helps the textile breathe while keeping the weave stable. Avoid spraying perfume directly onto the saree, as fragrance and alcohol can affect the fabric and zari. Every few months, open it out and let it air naturally for a while — a small ritual that allows the weave to breathe and helps the saree stay beautiful for years.
