In this landscape in particular, the drama of two large waterfalls bursting over cliffs into a deep valley carved out by a river was enough for me to forget that the wind was trying to blow me off the cliff overlooking them. Red and orange layers were embedded into the rock, and they felt like they held the history of the foss formations. It was a whole storybook right in front of my eyes. We hiked to the bottom of the waterfall, and protected by the walls of the canyon, our chills melted away as we enjoyed the invigorating mist and the rainbow that danced at the base of the falls. Type 2 fun with a treat!
