ABC7 has teamed with local muralists to create wearable works of art for a good cause! More people are experiencing food insecurity, and local food banks need your help. ABC7 will donate its proceeds from Snow Commerce's sale of this exclusive The Amy Smith-designed t-shirt to support our annual Feed SoCal campaign, raising much-needed funds for Southern California regional food banks. Amy Smith creates mixed media paintings, murals, and sculptures inspired by the natural world and imagines an alternate reality of new possibilities. Using recycled materials, packaging, papers, lace, and other would be discarded materials, coupled with encaustic wax and handmade paper pulp clay, creatures and organic forms are shaped with a focus on the tactility and materiality of 2D and 3Dworks. From collages to public art murals, her art has been shown in galleries, museums,nationwide and internationally. Her work is hopeful, grounded in a discovery to understand our true connection to these resources and nature. It draws upon a collective consciousness and the unlearning of practices that no longer serve us. Science and spirituality combine to create her influences.
