18th Century "Au Plus Fidelle" Rock Crystal Heart Locket

DATE: Georgian, c.1770 A gorgeous antique faceted rock crystal heart locket, set with an almandine garnet and white enamelling to the stylised ribbon top. Already a beautiful piece, it features French lettering on the ribbon "Au Plus Fidelle" , which translates to "To The Most Faithful". This was definitely made to give to someone as a token of love...Its hinged at the bottom, and opens to reveal a locket compartment - crafted in buttery high carat gold. It dates from the Georgian period, circa 1770 and makes a super lovely addition to your collection.
