Utopia Northern Territory Also known as: Carolyn Pula Price, Carolyn Price Pwerle Language: Anmatyerre Dreaming’s: Bush Seed, Bush Plum (Anweketye or conkerberry), Women’s dreaming (Awelye) and Yam Seed Carolyn is from the Utopia Region which is approximately 5000sq kilometers northeast of Alice Springs. There are several large and small Indigenous communities with a fluctuating population. Utopia is renowned worldwide for their artists. Her mother is Margaret Price Penangke and her sister Rayleen Pula Price are both established artists. Like her mother and sister, they paint the stories related to their land. Carolyn paints several dreaming’s which have been passed down to her but the main dreaming she paints is bush seed dreaming. These are the seeds collected by the women in the hills of her home in Utopia. There are medicinal seeds and others are collected and ground into flour and a damper is made.
