Blige, TLC, SWV, and Jade. In November of 1992, Atlanta-based quartet Silk released their debut album, Lose Control, produced by the legendary Keith Sweat. The group consisting of Timothy "Timzo" Cameron, Jimmy Gates, Gary "Big G" Glenn, Johnathen "John-John" Rasboro, and Gary "Lil G" Jenkins released their first single, "Happy Days," which incorporated samples from James Brown's "The Payback", a signature of several 90s Hip-Hop and R&B songs. The group's second single, the slow jam "Freak Me," reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped drive the album to double-platinum status. The group went on to release six more studio albums, but Lose Control is pure 90s R&B and remains a classic in their catalog. The album was not released on vinyl in the US until now.
