"Cruising Altitude" Original Oil Painting of Flying Pintail Ducks

I love the color palette and composition of this pintail painting. Often times as an artist I find that less is more. It doesn't always take an elaborate, panoramic vista and complex composition story - just put the ducks in interesting poses that compliment each other and crop it down. Let their plumage, angles and natural beauty do the rest. This is a very simple painting, but one I enjoyed working on. It sold quickly at the Southeastern Wildlife Expo in Charleston.
