Leones Negros 2020/2021 Away Shirt

LEONES NEGROS UDEG - AWAY SHIRT 2020/2021 Leones Negros UdeG are the football team of the Universidad de Guadalajara, founded in 1970 as Venados UdeG and given their current name two years later. Based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, the club share the Estadio Jalisco with city neighbours Atlas - a 56,000-seat stadium that hosted matches at both the 1970 and 1986 FIFA World Cups. Although now in the Mexican second tier, the Leones Negros sit on a proud history: a Copa México and a CONCACAF Champions Cup sit in their cabinet. The 2020/2021 campaign, in which this away shirt was worn, was a season unlike any other in Mexican football. It was the inaugural season of the Liga de Expansión MX, the new second tier brought in to replace the Ascenso MX after promotion and relegation between the divisions had been suspended. Leones Negros UdeG were one of the sixteen founding clubs of the new competition. Like the rest of the Mexican calendar, the season was split into two short tournaments - the 2020 Apertura and the 2021 Clausura. Neither went the way the Manada had hoped.
