Description: The Zuiwer 20” Big Blue Activated Carbon Block is a charcoal-based filter block, which improves taste, smell and colour of water by removing organics and excess chlorine from Municipal water. This filter is to be used in Atlas Filtri DP 20” Big Blue Filter Housings, and other universal 20” Big Blue Filter Housings. Activated carbon is a form of carbon that has been treated with oxygen to make it very porous, allowing for a larger surface area for chemical reactions to occur. The carbon absorbs organic materials and Chlorine from the water it comes into contact with. The water passes through the carbon filter, allowing the organic materials and chlorine to effectively bond with the carbon molecules, thus removing these from the water. It is recommended to be replaced every 3 to 6 months, depending on water quality and water volume usage.
