This hand-quilted khadi bedspread is where the running hand stitch holding everything together is as much a part of the design as the patchwork of repurposed khadi and saree remnants beneath it. Made by rural women quilters in north Karnataka with no poly batting, just two pure cotton layers, it is light enough to travel with and strong enough to use daily. Notice the colourful upcycled patchwork side and the plain kora khadi back. When synthetic quilts that pill, sweat, and fade in a year have worn out their welcome, this bedspread is a reasonable next step.
