2024, Domaine Y. Clerget, VOLNAY, 1er Cru, 'Brouillards'

From a .38 ha holding (just below Les Angles) planted to the échalas, or individually staked vines.The 2024 Volnay En Bouillard 1er Cru is the first year under the Domaine label: 25% whole bunch with 50% new oak from two barrels. This has quite a full nose with raspberry and crushed strawberry fruit, a little confit in style, fine delineation and quite generous in the context of the vintage. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins, taut and fresh, quite elegant and understated with plenty of transparency on the finish. Promising. 90-92 Neal Martin.
