We'll serve light nibbles, have a conversation with Rachel, an audience Q&A & she'll sign copies of her book. About Rachel Khoo: Rachel Khoo is a British cook, author & broadcaster whose Malaysian-Chinese & Austrian heritage inspires her inventive, design-led approach to food & storytelling. She has created & presented shows for major broadcasters including the BBC, Food Network & Netflix, & is a judge on The Great Australian Bake Off. The author of six books translated into fourteen languages, she first gained global recognition with The Little Paris Kitchen. Born in Croydon, Rachel now divides her time between London & Sweden, where she lives with her children. About The Smallest Restaurant in Paris: In her first memoir, Sunday Times bestselling cookery author & broadcaster Rachel Khoo tells her inspiring story of creativity, enterprise & making something magical wherever you may find yourself. For the first time, Rachel offers a behind-the-scenes look at the experiences that led her to create The Smallest Restaurant in Paris - a concept that charmed the world & launched her into television. Warm, vivid & full of heart this book charts the remarkable journey from a secure London office job to a Bastille bedsit &, ultimately, to establishing herself as a familiar & much-loved presence in British food media. In this intimate memoir, she brings readers into the real Paris of the noughties - the faux pas and the oh là là, foodie fashionistas, culinary kooks & Cordon Bleu mishaps. To make ends meet, she worked as an au pair, tour guide, English teacher, Printemps perfume sales assistant, recipe tester & chef, inching her way up the culinary ladder while the city embraced cupcake crazes & experimental edible trends. During one of the cosy dinners she hosted in her 21-square-metre flat, a guest remarked that dining there felt like being in 'the smallest, cosiest restaurant in Paris'. The idea that would change her life took hold. With one table, two chairs & Rachel juggling every role from chef to maître d', her intimate suppers quickly booked out months in advance & captured imaginations around the world.
