CoLab Membership Subscription

CoLab is a shared creative space and community-powered retail hub built by and for queer, BIPOC, and marginalized artists in New Hampshire. Membership helps sustain the space, support artists, and build a stronger creative ecosystem together. Membership Tiers CoLab-Only Membership — $20/month This tier is for artists who want access to the physical space and creative community. Includes: Access to Open Studio hours Tuesday–Thursday, 6pm–8pm Sunday, 2pm–4pm Voting rights in collective decisions about equipment, materials, and space improvements Eligibility for priority consideration for paid creative opportunities, such as poster design, design commissions, and community art projects Automatic enrollment in the Quarterly Queer Sticker Pack Ideal for: Artists who want to create in community, use the space, and help shape its direction. Retail-Only Membership — $15/month This tier is for artists who want to sell their work through CoLab without using the studio space. Includes: Participation in Queerlective’s in-person retail store Participation in online retail opportunities when available Does not include: Access to Open Studio Voting rights Member discounts Ideal for: Artists who want a low-barrier way to sell their work and be part of the retail collective. Full Membership — $30/month This tier combines both CoLab access and retail participation. Includes everything in CoLab-Only and Retail-Only, plus: 50% discount on Queerlective markets Priority access to paid opportunities such as designing posters, leading workshops, and commissioned creative projects Voting rights in collective decisions Ideal for: Artists who want to both create in the space and sell their work, while being deeply involved in the community. Keyholder Keyholder is not a paid tier you sign up for. It is a role we offer. Keyholders are members who have built strong relationships, demonstrated reliability, and shown care for the space and community. We identify and invite people into this role. Includes: Flexible key access to the space outside standard Open Studio hours Greater responsibility in maintaining the space and supporting community culture Keyholder status is about trust, accountability, and shared stewardship. Discounted Memberships Minimum Financial Contribution CoLab operates on shared investment. A minimum total financial contribution of $5 per month is required from every member, regardless of volunteering, fee reductions, or membership tier. Volunteering can significantly reduce monthly dues, but no membership may be reduced to $0. This ensures everyone contributes financially in some way to sustaining the space. We offer 50% discounted memberships for those who need financial flexibility. Active for 6 months, with the option to reapply Limited number available at a time Members may volunteer to further reduce fees Volunteering & Fee Reductions Members can reduce or fully cover their monthly fee through contributions to the space. One-time tasks = $5 reduction Examples: Cleaning and organizing Preparing workshop materials Event documentation Ongoing roles = Up to $25 reduction/month Examples: Hosting recurring gatherings Running Open Studio shifts Supporting finances or membership management Assisting with grant writing or fundraising Managing social media or website updates Coordinating exhibitions A regular signup process will outline available roles and needs. How Membership Fees Are Used 20% of all membership fees are set aside for new equipment and materials. Members can submit requests, and funding decisions are made through a consent-based process among voting members. At its core, CoLab is about shared ownership. It is a space where artists don’t just rent access, they build something together.
