Weingut Seehof, Weissburgunder 2024
Weissburgunder, known notably in Alsace as Pinot Blanc and Northern Italy as Pinot Bianco, is one of Germany and Austria's finest secret weapons. A sure crowd-pleaser, with an attractively generous spectrum of fruit and herbal aromatics, it can stand up to oak ageing under certain circumstances, but is deliciously fresh and light-footed in this lovely example from Weingut Seehof in Rheinhessen. Florian has really crafted a stellar example here with unmistakable notes of honey melon, apricot and a freshness that provide an immense Trinkfluss all year round. Also great value compared to some Alsace examples.
