SR-71 Blackbird
this circuit here is the advancement of a classic. a somewhat hated classic. god, it is another metalzone. BUT what makes mine different? Why is it worth getting over the boss one? The secret lies in the internal dip switches and trimpots. There are some secret frequency notches in the metalzone circuit that are normally fixed. With this version you can finetune each one, offering a different frequency accentuation than the stock voicing. Also, the dip switches. when in the down position, it is off. when up- it is on. the left dip switch, controls the soft clipping diodes, allowing for 2 modes- down is open, brighter, louder. down is darker, more compressed and clipped. the middle and right dip switch are high cuts at different points of the circuit- the metalzone inherently has a lot of high cut- when down, you get a much brighter, more present, and open metalzone, that does not feel so boxy. in my version, the mids freq knob has slightly more range as well. my version also has a wider sweep of gain- but also gets higher gain quicker than the og. The last little cherry on top? This pedal can run up to 18v for a tight, well defined, high headroom distortion.
