Sarracenia × areolata 'October Hope' is a beautiful hybrid of Sarracenia leucophylla and Sarracenia alata selected for its strong late-season growth and clear areolation. This clone follows the typical Sarracenia × areolata structure but pushes size and contrast further than most forms. It produces large, upright pitchers that hold their shape well into autumn. The tube starts green at the base and transitions into a dense network of white areoles towards the upper section. These windows are well defined and evenly spaced, giving a clean, netted pattern across the trap. Veins run through the white areas in a fine red grid, becoming more visible as the pitcher matures. The peristome and lid edge carry a dark red tint that frames the white upper tube. This creates a clear contrast, especially in strong light. The lid is broad and slightly undulating, held open enough to expose the throat and upper tube. The throat itself often shows a deeper red wash, though it does not dominate the overall look. Growth peaks later in the season, with the best pitchers appearing from late summer into autumn. At this stage, traps reach full size, and the white areolation becomes brightest. Earlier pitchers tend to be smaller and less defined, but still show the same pattern.
