BTA commercial UV sterilisation UVONIC CMLA Commercial Multi-Lamp Amalgam UV Steriliser Series Engineered multi-lamp amalgam UV reactors for aquaculture, RAS and commercial water treatment — powered by BTA's custom-built UV steriliser engineering software, bringing another level of accuracy to UV sizing. 280 & 315mm chambers Up to 10amalgam lamps 320Wper lamp steps Amalgam lamp technologyMulti-lamp · Vertical or horizontal · Custom inlet/outlet sizesMaterial-aware dose modelling ✓ Amalgam lamps — stable output✓ Individual ballast per lamp✓ Over-temperature protection✓ Custom dose-rate sizing The UVONIC CMLA — Commercial Multi-Lamp Amalgam Series — is engineered around one principle: every reactor is sized to your actual dose target. Most commercially available UV calculators only model stainless steel chambers. Ours models the real world — stainless, white PVC and dark chambers (grey PVC or black HDPE) all reflect and absorb 254 nm UV differently, and that changes the delivered dose. Our in-house MPSS dose engine — BTA's custom-built UV steriliser engineering software — places every lamp, models chamber material, water transmittance and geometry for your actual system. The software is as much a part of every UVONIC build as the reactors themselves. The UVONIC difference Sized by modelling. Not by guesswork. 📐 True multi-lamp geometry Lamp placement changes everything in a multi-lamp reactor. Our engine models up to 10 lamps by exact X/Y position, arc length and output — so dose is engineered, not assumed from a single-lamp chart. 🧱 Chamber material matters Stainless steel, white PVC and dark chambers (grey PVC or black HDPE) reflect 254 nm UV very differently. The calculator applies material-specific geometry factors so every build is sized honestly. 🎯 Sized to your system Every reactor is modelled lamp-by-lamp for your flow, water quality and target dose before it is built — so the dose you need is the dose you get. In-house engineering Every reactor is modelled before it is built 🛠 Reactor parameters Chamber dimensions, sleeve size, flow rate and water %T at 254 nm are entered for your system — not a generic worst case. 💡 Lamp-by-lamp layout Up to 10 lamps placed by exact X/Y position with individual wattage, arc length and efficiency — the layout that actually goes into your reactor. 📊 Dose you can check New-lamp dose, end-of-lamp-life dose and a 10% safety-factor design value are reported for every configuration. Central control box Voltage meter, on/off meter, bulb indicator lights and over-temperature sensor — each lamp driven by its own individual ballast. Dose sizing report Your reactor's modelled dose: new-lamp output, end-of-lamp-life value and 10% safety-factor design figure. Design philosophy Why no LCD screen or UV intensity sensor? No LCD screen LCD displays add significant cost to commercial UV control boxes without adding treatment value. The UVONIC control box carries the meters that actually matter: voltage, on/off status, per-lamp bulb indicators and over-temperature sensing. No UV intensity sensor In a multi-lamp reactor a single intensity sensor cannot read the chamber accurately — if a lamp on the far side of the reactor fails, a spot sensor still shows healthy output. Every UVONIC unit is instead sized to the target dose with end-of-lamp-life factors built into the design. Frequently asked questions UVONIC FAQs What chamber sizes are available? The current range covers 280 mm and 315 mm chambers, with more sizes in development. Custom configurations are available on request. Can the reactor be mounted vertically or horizontally?Yes. UVONIC reactors are built to any format — vertical or horizontal — with interchangeable inlet and outlet connections in customisable sizes to suit your pipework. Does chamber material really change the UV dose?Yes. Stainless steel, white PVC and dark chambers (grey PVC or black HDPE) reflect 254 nm UV differently, which changes the delivered dose. Our dose calculator applies material-specific geometry factors so every build is sized honestly for its actual chamber material. How do you size the reactor to my system? We model every reactor lamp-by-lamp with our custom-built UV engineering software using your flow rate, water transmittance, chamber material and target dose — so the unit you receive is sized to the dose your system actually needs. Why doesn't the control box have an LCD screen or UV sensor?LCD screens add substantial cost without treatment benefit, and in a multi-lamp reactor a single UV intensity sensor cannot accurately measure chamber output — especially if a lamp on the opposite side fails. Instead, each lamp has its own ballast and indicator light, and every unit is sized to its target dose rate with end-of-lamp-life factors included. Can I get flow monitoring?Yes. Flow meters with low and high transducer switches are available as an option — they also serve as a backup to the over-temperature sensor included as standard. Not sure what your UV is actually doing? Want to check the sizing of an existing unit, or retrofit a UV reactor to another system and verify the dose rate? That is exactly what we built our UV calculator for. Send us your flow rate, water transmittance and target dose — we will model it and give you the numbers.
