Wired & Wireless Interconnection Both the VFS-HA/10 Heat Alarm and VFS-PA/10 Smoke Alarm offer flexible interconnection options. Alarms can be hard-wired together or, when fitted with the compatible RF module (sold separately), linked wirelessly. This allows multiple compatible alarms throughout a property to communicate with each other, so when one interconnected alarm is triggered, all linked alarms sound, helping provide an earlier warning throughout the property. Wireless RF interconnection is particularly useful where installing additional interconnect cabling would be difficult or disruptive. The VFS-HA/10 Heat Alarm provides reliable heat detection for areas where conventional smoke alarms may be susceptible to nuisance alarms, making it particularly suitable for kitchens, boiler rooms, laundry rooms and garages. Powered from a 100–240V AC mains supply, the alarm incorporates a non-replaceable 3V lithium battery backup, providing continued protection in the event of a mains power failure. A high-precision NTC thermistor rapidly detects increases in ambient temperature, with the alarm activating at approximately 54°C–65°C. The VFS-HA/10 also features wired interconnection, allowing multiple compatible alarms to be linked together. If one interconnected alarm is activated, all alarms connected within the circuit will sound, helping provide warning throughout the property. Up to 24 heat alarms can be installed on one wired interconnected circuit, and the VFS-HA/10 can also be interconnected with the VFS-PA/10. For easier installation and maintenance, the alarm is supplied with a practical hinged mounting base, providing convenient access to the wiring terminals while keeping the alarm securely attached during installation. The battery is automatically connected when the alarm is slid onto the mounting plate.
