New old stock Friedr Herder Abr Sohn 3.5" stainless paring knife, blade set on either German or American ebony handles from the same general time period. Blades are marked "R.F. (rost frei) Inoxidable," an earlier mark for stainless steel, and were hand-forged after drop-forging, with hand-forged tangs suggesting 1920s / early 30s pre-war manufacture. A grip of new old stock F. Herder blades were released in the 1990s when the company underwent trouble and traded hands and these are likely from that release; that said, this is not a commonly found pattern and old paring knives are generally very rare as they got used up or lost easily.
