This is a limited edition single malt Scotch whisky with a job to do. Released in partnership with Poppyscotland, every bottle raises funds for the Scottish Poppy Appeal and the veterans, serving personnel and families it supports across Scotland. Why we made it In 1926, Lady Haig opened a factory in Edinburgh to make Scotland’s own poppy: four petals, no leaf, quite different from the one worn south of the border. A hundred years on, Lady Haig’s Poppy Factory still makes every poppy for the Scottish Poppy Appeal. We wanted to mark the centenary of poppy production in Scotland properly, so we’ve released just 1,926 bottles, a nod to the year it all began. The label and tube carry a First World War soldier among Scottish poppies, a reminder of where the story starts. But Poppyscotland’s work doesn’t stop at history. It supports the Armed Forces community in Scotland today, from older veterans to people who left the forces last year. £15 from every bottle goes directly to Poppyscotland. A whisky gift that gives back Remembrance Sunday falls on 8 November. ON THE NOSE A lovely mix of sweet and floral aromas, overlaid with a subtle trace of peat smoke. ON THE PALATE A wonderful depth of flavour. Hints of honey and burnt sugar mix with soft spices, and throughout there is the ever-present sherry sweetness. FINISH Long, lingering and delicious, with traces of dried fruit and caramel remaining until the very end.
