Glow

Two eyes with orange irises look out from layered wing panels in glossy steel, one set in a field of purple torn-paper pattern, the other in orange, with flashes of yellow, black and white around them. Pineda Mariscal describes the piece as a dazzling flash, a moment of light in motion. A polished black body and fine antennae sit at the centre, and the overlapping wings cast soft shadows on the wall behind them. At 112 × 90 cm it gives a living room, an entrance hall or an office a single, strong focal point.
