Throughout Master Carver Peter Calvesbert’s storied sculpting career, he has carved very few baby animals. With “Rough and Tumble”, he’s set about to remedy the situation. Although Peter usually likes to add humor at every opportunity, he felt that the lion cubs were playful enough so he resisted the urge (for once)! Peter also kept the staining to a minimum so that the model had the look of an early Harmony Kingdom piece. Secrets, too, are scarce, as he preferred a more naturalistic look.
