Functional Cotton That Generates Heat from Within The padding uses “FLARE®BALL,” a functional cotton that generates heat in response to infrared rays. It is a new padding material that converts light energy into heat. The heat generated is retained in the air layer to maintain warmth, and a temperature difference of approximately 10°C has been observed when exposed to light. Nanopolymers are blended into the yarn, making the functionality semi-permanent even after washing. It is fluffy yet lightweight, and its heat retention performance is on par with down. It is characterized by combining the advantages of both cotton padding and down. A sheet-type padding was used so that the cotton does not bunch up after washing.
