Wolf-Rayet 124 — Hand-Dyed Wool Roving
Some stars go quietly. Wolf-Rayet 124 is not one of them. Inspired by the James Webb Space Telescope image of WR 124, this colorway captures the spectacular clouds of gas and dust surrounding a rare Wolf-Rayet star. These massive stars are in a brief, dramatic stage of their evolution, shedding their outer layers into space and creating the glowing nebula that surrounds them. Wolf-Rayet 124 translates that cosmic drama into saturated electric magenta, hot pink, violet, lavender, and deep midnight blue. Areas of lighter fiber allow the colors to shift and mingle as you spin, while threads of Stellina catch the light like the brilliant stars scattered throughout the Webb image. This is not subtle fiber. And frankly, WR 124 isn't a subtle star.
