Kugae Marker Dummy

The Kugae Marker Dummy has been designed to help build confidence, encourage straight lines and provide a useful stepping stone towards blind retrieves. Made in highly visible white and blue, the dummy can be easily seen by the dog from a distance. Its flat bottom allows it to stand upright, creating a clear visual marker for the dog to run towards. At Kugae, we use Marker Dummies to help teach dogs to take a confident, straight line away from the handler. We may begin by placing several markers approximately 10 yards apart, sending the dog for each one individually. As the dog understands the exercise, the distance and difficulty can gradually be increased. The Marker Dummy can then be used alongside other retrieves, including our Hen and Cock Pheasant Dummies, helping the dog progress from a clearly visible retrieve towards more advanced exercises and eventually blind retrieves. Made from a soft material that's comfortable in the dog's mouth, it encourages a confident pick-up, carry and delivery, with the high-quality construction and stitching we expect throughout the Kugae range.
