Native American sterling silver turquoise, coral, malachite, jet and mother of pearl Jesse Monongya cuff inlay bracelet
Description : Building a hollow construction is very tricky. All of the shapes are sawn out and each piece is then very carefully assembled and soldered. Every shape of gemstone is cut by hand and inlaid. This bracelet has jet, mother of pearl, coral, malachite, and turquoise that is also precision cut, and epoxied into the negative space created for it. Jesse Monongya is the artist who made this piece and sadly passed away at 71 years of age in 2024. He was adopted at birth, and raised by his Navajo/Dine grandmother, and did not find out he was Preston Monongye, a famous Native American jeweler's son, until he was 21 years old. His masterful work is considered highly collectable, and obtaining one of these pieces of jewelry will become exceedingly more rare as time goes on. Crafted from sterling silver, and signed, this unique cuff bracelet is a treasure, and is a symbolic piece of jewelry destined to become a cultural heirloom.
