"Find A Way Or Make One" Hannibal Is At The Gates! ...And no, I'm not referring to Anthony Hopkins. This micro-batch of picks is named after the Carthaginian general who is considered one of the greatest strategists in history. His feats included traversing The Alps with his army (including dozens of war elephants) into Italy. There he proceeded to bring an epic fight to Rome's doorsteps and delivered a devastating blow to the empire in the battle of Cannae. It was at the battle of Cannae where Hannibal defeated the largest Roman army ever to march the field. The forces: 50,000 vs 86,000 strong The result: A gruesome toll of over 85k troops for Rome, and the single greatest defeat to the republic. The losses on Hannibal's side? Less than 6k. If there was ever a man who had the tenacity to bring the most powerful empire in the world to its knees, it was Hannibal Barca of Carthage. The Picks The blue "Alpine Frost" pick is crafted from buckeye burl and named after the grim & frostbitten trek taken through The Alps. The red "Blood of Cannae" pick is made from amboyna burl, which is of course named after the legendary battle. Both picks feature a composite tip for enhanced durability, and have minimal beveling which allows further wear for playing. This composite build is the latest Iron Age technique which allows the use of softer or more exotic materials while increasing their practical use greatly. Features Each pick features a UV reactive engraving which glows especially bright under direct UV blacklight. The resin tips are also color matched with pearl pigments and each pick is hand-finished to produce a functional piece of art. The natural burl & tips are finally burnished to a gloss, then sealed with a conservation wax. This protects the natural wood and provides an added layer of grip, as well as resistance to moisture & fingerprints.
