Vedrenne Izarra 48 (Green) Liqueur 48% 700ml

Izarra is a Basque herbal liqueur created in 1906 in Hendaye by the pharmacist and botanist Joseph Grattau, and now made by Vedrenne. Izarra 48 builds on the green Izarra recipe, a distillate of plants and spices with a double maceration of prunes and green walnut husk blended with Armagnac, and adds cognac for depth and a mandarin distillate for a fresh finish. Vedrenne describes an olive-tinged green colour, an intense herbal nose with a touch of citrus, and a palate where the plants meet the roundness of the cognac.
