Natural Azurite/ Malachite/ Chrysocolla Cabochon Pendant, Bezel Set, Sterling Silver, 5.44g

What captured our eye with this pendant was that stone - the most "earth from space" style stone we had seen. The blues, the aquas, the greens and the flecks of brown - all like the earth in those amazing photos from outside our atmosphere. We really tried to identify this cabochon - but geologists we are not - and these rocks often grow together and without putting shavings of it into acid (which we were not game for) we are stuck with the fact that this cabochon is a mix of some of (but maybe not all) Azurite (blue) Malachite (green) and Chrysocolla (turquoise aquas). Bezel set this pear is a great staple pendant - and the swinging v-bail is a great size and shape to be worn on a number of chains or clasps - like the Italian Bolt clasp here. Particulars: Weight 5.44g Width 17.88 x 27.3mm (not including bail) - bail opening 7.4 x 4.8mm Hallmarks - none - acid tested to confirm Condition - a small chip to the bottom edge of the cabochon, patina build up around the grooves - cabochon is not high polish - please see photos- it is a lovely natural finish Care - As a general rule - jewellery should not be worn for strenuous tasks that may put pressure, chemicals and weight on them (think cleaning, gym, swimming/spa, carrying things).
