Even Tide

40cm x 40cm Oils on canvas in slip frame ready to hang Days end, when all has come and gone, and your feet are still firm, buoyed by the shoreline. I say it often, but holding on and letting go feels the most accurate summation of that which underpins my work. I think now, thats much like the tide. I remember once walking the shoreline in Ballinglen, Co Mayo with a full, meandering mind. When I began to breathe in sync with the sea, the in / our of it settled everything - and helped me to hold it lightly - an antidote in anxious times.
