Shield Decals: Schola Scutariorum Secunda

WARGAMING'S MOST CONVENIENT DECALS! This box includes 36 shield decals for the Schola Scutariorum Secunda, a regiment of the imperial horse guard. Pre-cut for ease of use and ready to apply directly to our plastic shields. The scholae were raised by Constantine to replace the Praetorian Guard he disbanded after the Milvian Bridge in 312, and rode as the emperor's personal escort. Scutarii means shield-bearers, though by this date the word simply marked a man as a guardsman. Pattern recorded in the Notitia Dignitatum. Designed by Steve Beckett
