Variety: Heirloom Process: Honey Region: Jimma Altitude: 1,900 – 2,000 masl Tasting notes: Honey, apricot, floral Producer information: This coffee is grown in Jimma, right next to the Choche forest, known to be the mythical birthplace of coffee. The Badaye station is run by two brothers, Khalid Shifa and Ahmed Abateman, who process both their own coffee and that of the small neighboring farmers. It's a forest project: 3 hectares surrounded by nature, with 240 African beds and an organic approach that looks after both quality and the environment. It's a Honey coffee: the cherry is depulped but dried while keeping part of its mucilage, which gives a clean, sweet cup
