*Note: Please make sure to right-click and print (or save) ID card located in the photo gallery for your records* A nice piece with aragonite "lightning" with chondrodite, diopside, and some calcite. Shortwave both sides, but the aragonite is nicely fluorescent under all wavelengths. The Long Lake zinc mine is located just across the US/Canada border in Ontario. It is filled with wonderful specimens if you’re willing to do a little sledgehammer work and spend some time digging - and make careful selections. We have heard several reports that the new owners are not allowing collecting any more. Chondrodite = yellow Diopside = blue Calcite = red Ex. Liebetrau Collection This specimen originates from the renowned collection of Albert M. “Al” and Suzanne “Sue” Liebetrau, who spent more than six decades assembling a world-class collection of fine minerals from around the globe. Particularly celebrated for their exceptional fluorescent minerals, the Liebetraus built what has been described as one of the great fluorescent mineral collections in the United States, with specimens selected for quality, rarity, aesthetics, and locality significance.
