Protect concrete floors against moisture with this damp tolerant epoxy primer, a solvent-free, two-part system designed to seal prepared surfaces before subsequent resin floor coatings. A single coat provides a damp tolerant seal and a base for compatible coatings. When applied in two coats, the system forms an effective damp proof membrane, helping to protect against rising damp and moisture contamination. Its low-viscosity formulation provides excellent adhesion and sealing, making it suitable for garages, basements, factories, warehouses and showrooms. Key Features Damp tolerant seal: Helps protect concrete surfaces against moisture. Two-coat damp proof membrane: Provides additional protection against rising damp. Excellent adhesion: Creates a reliable base for subsequent compatible resin coatings. Solvent-free formulation: Two-part epoxy system supplied with resin and activator. High coverage: Approximately 5m² per kg, depending on surface porosity. Grey finish: Provides a practical base coat for concrete flooring. Coverage Rates Pack Size Approximate Coverage per Coat 1kg 5m² 2.5kg 12.5m² 5kg 25m² 10kg 50m² Coverage depends on surface porosity, texture and condition. Allow for two full coats when using the product as a damp proof membrane. Suitable Surfaces Suitable for correctly prepared: Concrete floors Cementitious screeds Compatible self-levelling compounds Not suitable for metal or other unsupported flooring materials. This product is not self-levelling. Surface Preparation Remove any loose or flaking paint and abrade the surface to create a mechanical key. Mechanical preparation by grinding or shot-blasting is recommended for the best results. Where mechanical preparation is unsuitable, sanding or an appropriate concrete etching cleaner may be considered. Etching cleaners should only be used on bare concrete. Thoroughly sweep and vacuum the prepared area to remove dust, debris and contaminants before application. Application Guide Apply at an ambient temperature of at least 7°C. Mix Part A using a mixing paddle attached to an electric drill for approximately one minute. Add all of Part B and mix for a further 90 seconds. Keep the paddle submerged to minimise air incorporation. Immediately transfer the entire mixed contents into a suitable paint tray or scuttle. Apply promptly using a resin-suitable roller, using a brush to cut in around edges. Allow the first coat to cure until it is no longer tacky before recoating. The application guidance allows approximately 12–24 hours, depending on conditions. Allow the final coat to cure sufficiently before foot traffic or subsequent compatible coatings. Pot Life and Working Time The mixed product has a pot life of approximately 20 minutes. Transfer it out of the mixing tin immediately after mixing and within this period. Once spread onto the floor, the stated working time is up to 40 minutes, depending on conditions. Use complete packs only. Do not split the resin and activator into smaller batches. Use a fresh roller sleeve for each coat.
