Rio Negro Natural
INFORMATION TASTING NOTES VARIETIES Rio Negro is a farm in the southern reaches of Costa Rica, just north of the Panama border and nestled into the fringes of La Amistad International Park, the largest nature reserve in Central America. It is owned and managed by the same folks who produce our La Minita coffee. For years we sold the washed coffee from Rio Negro, and it was one of our most popular offerings. And the past two years, we’ve picked up this alternative variation from the same farm. It’s the exact same coffee, just dry processed, which draws out a lot more aromatics and complexity in the cup. This isn’t a fruit-forward brew, but it delivers more sweetness and softness on the palate. Buried inside, you can still taste the same things you loved about the washed version: walnuts and tobacco.
