Emeco, a titan of American mid-century modern industrial design. Founded in 1944, the company grew quickly producing chairs for the government, famously the Navy chair that was designed for use on Submarines. However, despite the overwhelming number of these "Navy" chairs out there, actual military issued Emecos are super rare. This is a rare example from 1952 that was made for the Army Medical Corps, and used in a hospital. These rare chairs were rediscovered in the Emeco archives and have become a core part of the businesses' repro offering, but as they say, nothing beats and original. Condition Good used condition. Some light wear to the leather and marks to the aluminium. Size Approx 32" h x 16" w x 20" d Shipping PLEASE NOTE BEFORE PURCHASING. Due to the size of this piece, calculating shipping is hard without an address. I will charge shipping separately and to cost, and I would strongly recommend you contact me before purchasing for a quote. The chair will be listed as free shipping, but the cost for shipping will be due before I ship. Collection from my store is possible.
