4D Kumano Kodo Self-Guided Walking Tour

The quintessential Kumano Kodo experience on the classic Nakahechi route. A condensed version of the wonderful Nakahechi route, introducing you to the highlights of the Kumano Kodō. With 3 hikes of 2-7 hours, this tour offers more challenging options on day 3 for avid hikers and is eligible for Dual Pilgrim certification. Technical Level: Trails include some uneven sections and extensive stone or wooden steps. They are only intermittently marked, requiring map-reading skills. A GPS device or application is recommended but not essential. Activity Level: Our Intermediate-level tours often include multiple dedicated days of trail walking, with some days of up to six hours or more and significant ascents and/or descents.
