During the violent persecution of the Church in Mexico, he carried out his priestly ministry in secret—disguised, hunted, and constantly at risk—bringing the sacraments to the faithful when doing so could cost him his life. At his execution, he refused a blindfold, stretched out his arms in the form of a cross, and proclaimed his final words: “Long live Christ the King.” This rosary is inspired by that courage.
