The CBC News Service formally went on air in January of 1941. By the late 1940s, television was on the horizon and the CBC launched its television network across Canada in 1952. In 1974, their first iteration of a new logo was launched. Lovingly referred to as 'the pizza' by staffers, the iconic brand was a hit with Canadians. It has been refined and simplified over the years but the version in use today is a clear evolution of the original. The inspiration behind our Vintage 1970s CBC Stubby Beer Bottle Art Print Our 'Vintage CBC Stubby' art print features the CBC logo launched in the 1970s. It's radiating rings symbolize the national broadcaster's role in bringing news, culture and entertainment coast to coast to coast. The vintage logo is proudly displayed on our old, fat, stubby friend. Like the CBC logo of the 1970s, the stubby was a national Canadian symbol with beer lovers during that time. Sadly, the stubby was replaced with American-style long neck bottles in the 1980s to create wider market appeal but the CBC logo evolved and remains as an iconic Canadian brand. Our 'Vintage 1970s CBC Stubby Beer Bottle' art print appeals to our love of beer and brings back memories of the 1970s when the quirky Canadian bottle reigned supreme.
