Hakeme Marumon Flower Vase
This flower vase was handcrafted in Mashiko by Shoichi Kamiya using local red clay. The surface is decorated with hakeme brushwork and marumon round motifs, creating a warm and inviting appearance. Shoichi Kamiya (1948–2014) apprenticed under Living National Treasure Tatsuzo Shimaoka and later spent more than twenty years working in his workshop before establishing his own studio. His pottery reflects the honest beauty of everyday use, shaped by decades of dedication to traditional craftsmanship and a deep respect for the spirit of mingei.
