Rolex Explorer I 40mm 224270 The Explorer I from Rolex doesn’t need an introduction, I’m sure most of you you know what it is. Just in case you aren’t familiar with them, the Explorer I was one of the original tool watches from Rolex, and it’s lineage has continued unabated since 1953. This latest version is the reference 224270. It features a 40mm Oyster case, black 3-6-9 dial with Chromalight lume, and is mounted to the outstanding oyster bracelet also in steel. It’s powered by the 3230 self winding movement, is waterproof to 100 metres, and is right up there with the best choices around for a one-watch, do it all piece in our opinion. This piece was first delivered in late-2023 and presents in TZ 'Good' condition. Brushed surfaces of the case show only some hairlines, and there's scratches/scuffs present on the polished sides of the case and bezel. Has been graded as 'Good' rather than 'Excellent' due to some extremely small nicks on the chamfers, and very edge of the bezel on the 9 o'clock side, as well as some small scrapes and pin dents on the left side of the case. Barely visible when not under macro photography, but we like to ensure full disclosure. Case back shows some rubbing from being rested on its bracelet. Lugs show strap change marks.
