2026 Medicine Walk

Traditional Medicine Harvesting Walk – The Battlefords Join us for a two-day Traditional Medicine Harvesting Walk in the Battlefords, located at our shop - 1191 98th St North Battleford. Dates: Saturday, August 1 & Sunday, August 2 Time: 9:00 AM – approximately 2:30 PM each day Lunch will be provided on both days, along with a harvesting kit and bottled water. Children under 13 years of age may attend free of charge; however, a lunch fee of $25 per child, per day applies. Please bring: Hat Bug repellent Rain jacket Boots Folding chair This event will proceed rain or shine, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Day 1 – Traditional Plant Medicines Participants will learn about approximately 18 traditional medicines, including: Plant identification Proper harvesting times Traditional and medicinal uses Preparation methods Proper storage techniques Day 2 – Bear Grease Preparation Participants will learn how to render bear fat into bear grease, along with its traditional uses, medicinal benefits, and applications. We look forward to sharing this knowledge and spending time on the land together.
