Michael Greer Sharp, funny, and unmistakably himself, Michael Greer became one of the earliest openly gay actors to carve out a visible place in American film and comedy during the late 1960s and 1970s. Best known for starring in Fortune and Men's Eyes and appearing in cult queer classics like The Gay Deceivers, Greer brought a mix of wit, vulnerability, and camp intelligence to roles that existed well outside mainstream Hollywood norms of the time. Before film, he had already built a reputation as a nightclub comic and performer, moving through gay nightlife and entertainment scenes when being openly queer in public life still carried enormous professional risk.
