This driveshaft fits any cab and bed combination (Regular/Quad/Crew/Mega Cab, Long and Short Bed). Use this driveshaft to upgrade your existing one piece driveshaft or to convert your two piece driveshaft into a heavy duty one piece. We will need you to measure for the driveshaft to verify proper fit. Measuring is very easy to do - just follow the diagram below. Dodge Ram driveshafts are notorious for driveshaft vibrations and component failures. Countless customers complain of their OEM two piece shaft having repeated and expensive carrier bearing failures, vibrations or shudders. Our Carbon Fiber driveshaft eliminates the carrier bearing for a stronger, more reliable driveshaft. Keep in mind that we build your driveshaft with the OEM 1485 u-joint. 1480 and 1485 are basically the same u-joint however the 1485 is a few thousandths of an inch narrower across the caps. So, both work but we prefer to build with the OEM 1485 premium sealed u-joint to guarantee a proper fit without vibrations. This driveshaft is heavy duty from end to end and is our most popular Ram 2500/3500 driveshaft. We use the OEM American Axle cold forged u-joint - the same one that comes in a brand new truck. The Carbon Fiber tubing is 4.00 Inch ID / 4.310 Inch OD premium Carbon Fiber seamless material that is 1/8 inch thick -- rated for over 8,000 ft/lbs of torque! It will handle even the heaviest towing loads. Most of the OEM one piece Aluminum shafts are only 0.083 inch thick. Some Rams have the smaller 1415 u-joint but we recommend you upsize you this 1485 shaft since the transfer case yoke and flange bolt pattern are the same on all of the Ram 4x4 trucks. The upsized driveshaft will last longer due to the bigger u-joint. In addition, you can upgrade your 1415 or 1485 driveshaft to the 1555 Series 5 inch Aluminum Driveshaft which is the biggest u-joint available for Dodge Ram trucks for the ultimate in driveshaft u-joint durability. The transfer case yoke and rear flange pattern are all interchangeable in the 1415, 1485 and 1555 driveshafts to allow for easy upgraded. The driveshaft comes fully assembled, balanced and ready to bolt in. Installation is as simple as sliding in the transfer case yoke and bolting up the flange. You do need to check for clearance issues. The OEM two piece driveshaft is 3.5 inch tube and the one piece shaft is 4.310 inch. You don't want the new bigger tube to rub so check the carrier bearing cross member to ensure it does not need to be removed.
