Artificial Purple & Green Hellebore Plant in Pot

Hellebores are one of the great winter flowers, but also one of the more frustrating ones to actually keep. They sulk for a season if you move them, they're slow to establish, and they hang their heads so low you end up lifting each flower to see the best part. This one gives you the look without the negotiation. The blooms are that sought-after dusky colouring — deep aubergine bleeding into green, with finely speckled, mottled petals that the real double hellebores are prized for. No two faces sit quite the same. Some are open and full, others still cupped and half-closed, a few nodding off to the side on their stems. The foliage does a lot of the work. Dark, serrated leaves with visible veining, the slightly leathery look the real plant has in deep winter. It's planted into a bed of moss in a rough, aged stone pot, so it arrives finished. At roughly 30cm in every direction, it sits well on a bedside table, a windowsill or a downstairs bathroom shelf where a fresh plant would never cope. And it looks like this in January. Which is more than the real one manages most years.
