Wisteria, June 2026 Color of the Month

Wisteria is the Color of the Month for June 2026! Wisteria is a variegated kettle dyed colorway creating short pops of color that creates lots of color depth without any significant pooling. Kettle dyed colorways are made by building up layers of color while the yarn heats, much like the colors in an oil painting are layered to create depth. Wisteria starts out by being dyed all over in a semi solid mix of champagne, silver gray, orchid, baby blue, and aqua- you can see this in the companion colorway dyed to pair with Wisteria called, Silver Spring. Then 5 more layers of colors are poured over…each layer is a different combination of orchid, violet, Copenhagen blue, and baby blue. Wisteria would pair well with Deep Sea, Lavender, Shadow, Blue Bell, Blue Lupine, Fog, Secret Garden, or Hades from the featured collection, but it pairs the best with the companion colorway, Silver Spring. Superwash yarn is technically machine washable in a gentle cycle with like colors, I do however recommend hand washing your knits made with superwash yarn as the washer will tug and pull at your knits causing them to lose their shape or worse rip. I was my knits in the sink using luke warm water and Long Winter Farm Sweater Soap. This soap has lanolin in it which protects the natural fibers. I spot wash any stains and allow my sweater to soak for approximately 30 minutes. Rinse your sweater with cool water if necessary and them gently wring out any extra water, I use my top load washer spin cycle this this, but you can use a towel as well. After the excess water is removed, lay your garment flat to air dry. This fiber was handdyed by ontheround using professional quality acid dyes. I dye my yarn in small batches and no skein will be 100% the same- that's what makes working with hand dyed yarn so fun!
