Royal Navy Ship’s Nameboard Melbreak
Ship’s nameboard from the Royal Navy escort destroyer HMS Melbreak (L73), a Hunt-class Type II destroyer launched in 1940 and commissioned during the height of the Second World War. HMS Melbreak served extensively on convoy escort and fleet duties in some of the most demanding theatres of the war, including the Arctic, Atlantic, and Mediterranean. She took part in critical operations such as the defence of Malta convoys, Operation Torch landings in North Africa, and later supported Allied operations during the Normandy campaign, exemplifying the vital role of Hunt-class destroyers in protecting Allied shipping and amphibious forces. 20 lbs. 8"H x 64"W.
