VINTAGE 1980 ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL 34 FULL-SET 1 OWNER BOX PAPERS ORIGINAL PURCHASE RECEIPT
VINTAGE 1980 ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL 34 FULL-SET 1 OWNER BOX PAPERS ORIGINAL PURCHASE RECEIPT. This is a very special collectors watch. A rare full-set, this outstanding gentlemen’s Rolex Oyster-Perpetual is in superb condition. This is the model 1002, which uses the Rolex calibre 1570 self-winding chronometer movement. This was one of the finest and most reliable automatic movements produced by the company, or any of the major manufacturers. Sold in December 1980, by T & J Perry jewellers – Kingston Upon Thames. The case measures 34mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 40mm tip-to-tip. The case is in very, very, very nice condition, with no dings or serious scratches. The back is in excellent condition, with no scratches and just a little light rubbing from where the bracelet has touched over the years (protected by a clear back-protector from the last service, which can be removed). The watch retains the original brushed satin finish with polished sides and bezel. This has to be one of the finest condition oyster-perpetuals that we have had in a very long time. The original silvered sunburst dial with black printing is absolutely beautiful, with contrasting polished silver baton divisions, crown and hands. The hands still retain their original luminous filling and the lume dots on the dial are original. The glass is pristine and scratch-free. The original crown is still present and in good condition ,with no unsightly wear. The calibre 1570 automatic movement is in pristine condition, totally as it was when new in 1980. Working perfectly, having benefited from a full official Rolex service some years ago at a cost of £460 (with receipt) and being used only a handful of times since. Also serviced in 1997 by Rolex with the receipt for that one included. The solid-link 78350 oyster bracelet is in very, very nice condition still and will fit up to an eight inch wrist (with the included spare link installed). There are no unsightly dings or scratches to the clasp, which snaps closed firmly as it should. Complete with the original presentation boxes, both inner and outer., guarantee certificate, owners manual, service booklet, leather wallet and hang-tag. Even has the original model 1002 protective back sticker, stuck to inside of the wallet. The original purchase receipt from 1980 and paperwork for the two services, receipts for those & Rolex service-pouch. This is a superb example, we believe that you will struggle to find a better or more complete set.
