Little Fosteriana Kit by Melanie Rountree
We love Melanie Rountree's Fosteriana Cardigan, so imagine our excitement when she let us know that she was working on a Little Fosteriana – a pullover and cardigan version for the little ones in our lives! Sized from preemie to 16 years, this design is wonderfully whimsical with its tulips and cute bees. Knit from the top down, Little Fosteriana is first worked flat, then in the round. The cardigan version includes a steek to open it in the middle for the button band. The sleeves are shaped with short-row sleevecaps, leading to an excellent fit. She used our Knit by Numbers 4ply for her sample, and we just love the colours she chose so much! The main colour is KBN97 with the contrasting colours KBN130 (CCA), KBN132 (CCB), KBN56 (CCC), KBN110 (bee body), KBN07 (stripes) and KBN55 (wings). The kit includes enough yarn to knit either the pullover or the cardigan version of the pattern. You're more than welcome to leave us a note if you'd like to change a colour for another one!
